Error code8E / BE / 8C / BC family
ApplianceWasher
Quick answer
The 8E, BE, 8C and BC family is a Mems sensor error. Some Samsung tables read 8E differently.
Model compatibility: Samsung reuses codes across series and model years, so 8E / BE / 8C / BC family may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
Plain language
What this code means
Mems sensor error (on some models 8E/BE is a vibration sensor error; BE2/8E2 may be a jammed button).
Samsung’s US page lists 8E, 8E1, 8E2, BE, BE1, BE2, 8C, BC, 8C1, 8C2, BC1, BC2, 1 8C, 1 BC, 18C1, 1BC1, 18C2 and 1BC2 as a Mems sensor error. On some models 8E and BE are a vibration sensor error. The code applies to all generations, but another Samsung table reads it differently, as covered below.
US listing: Mems sensor error
Power the washer off for 2 to 3 minutes, power it on and restart the cycle. If the error continues, request service.
BE2 and 8E2 may be a jammed button
On some models BE2 (8E2) is a jammed button error instead. Check the user manual for your model to tell which. For a jammed button, power off the washer and touch every button individually, working each back and forth to reach all edges before releasing. If a button is damaged or the code returns after power-up, request service.
Levant listing: overcurrent
Samsung’s Levant page lists 8E as an overcurrent error. Reset the washer at the mains for 30 seconds, and contact support if it persists.
Related codes
9C7 is the hardware overcurrent error, and 7E is the SilverCare error with the same restart steps.
